This program explores both the serious and the ridiculous sides of animation, including tales about a pet hamster’s voyage, the collapse of a paper world, what happens when you trade heads with your cat, and a musical homage to the film Willow. The program includes work by Maureen Selwood, Telefantasy Studios, Colin Barton, Al Herrmann, Hsin-I Tseng, Keren Albala, Jed McGowan, Helen Hill, Stefan Gruber, Amy Lockhart, and more!

FLORESTINE COLLECTION FUNDRAISER, Echo Park Film Center- 8pm
Helen Hill was an experimental filmmaker and film teacher who made many fun, inspiring, and original short films. At the time of her murder in New Orleans in January 2007, Helen was working on The Florestine Collection, a thirty-minute animation and live action documentary about 100 hand-sewn dresses she found in the trash on the side of the road. Her husband Paul Gailiunas decided to finish the movie as a 16 mm film and needs to raise funds for the last steps in the filmmaking process. Please join us to see a ten-minute preview of The Florestine Collection, as well as other short experimental films and works-in-progress by Helen and several of her filmmaking friends, including Trixy Sweetvittles, Julianna (JP) Parr, and Nancy Jean Tucker.
